The Factory-Floor Challenge

Production has Scaled Faster than Quality Data Workflows
Fiber manufacturing and assembly environments often combine sophisticated production equipment with manual test setup, paper travelers, spreadsheets, re-keyed measurements, and disconnected asset systems. That creates avoidable testing time, data errors, uncertain traceability, and delayed ship readiness.

ECSite Lifecycle Automation Changes the Game

Testing, Validation, and Traceability across the Production Floor

Bulk and multi-strand testing

Run structured test sequences with connected instruments and automatic result capture

Cable and pre-termination QC

Verify fiber, coax, assemblies, and pre-terminated products before shipment

Instant validation

Apply product-specific limits, completeness rules, anomaly checks, and pass/fail decisions as the test is performed

Asset traceability

Use barcodes and structured records to connect tests with cable, reel, assembly, order, lot, station, operator, and shipment

Data digitization

Eliminate manual re-entry and create a searchable repository for quality, engineering, operations, and customer reporting

Systems integration

Connect testing and quality records with MES, ERP, project-management, and customer systems through APIs and integrations

Next-Generation Fiber And Photonics

Ready for Multicore, Hollow-Core, and High-Density Optical Testing

AI scale-out and cloud infrastructure are driving new fiber designs and more demanding optical interfaces. Multicore and hollow-core fiber introduce greater complexity in splicing, alignment, connectorization, crosstalk, loss, reflectance, latency, and multi-channel test execution. Those challenges make automation and traceable quality control essential.

At OFC 2026, ECSite demonstrated LuminECsa, a turnkey multi-channel test automation platform integrating high-resolution optical measurement and MEMS switching for advanced fiber, photonics, quantum, and AI infrastructure applications. The demonstrated workflow automated measurements across a seven-core multicore fiber and showed how manufacturers can increase throughput while reducing setup and data errors.

Automated channel sequencing and instrument control
Multi-channel insertion loss, return loss, latency, and high-resolution fault-location workflows
Structured results and traceability for production and engineering teams
