Integrated solution combining Luna OFDR technology, DiCon MEMS optical switching, and ECSite’s LuminECsa™ automation platform enables automated multi-channel testing delivering up to 80% faster throughput and 99% fewer production errors
Campbell, CA – March 12, 2026 – ECSite, a leading provider of lifecycle automation for AI infrastructure, will showcase its Rapid Multi-Channel Fiber & Photonics Testing solution at OFC 2026 in Los Angeles, highlighting a turnkey platform designed to accelerate and improve testing for silicon photonics, quantum photonics, fiber connectivity manufacturing, data center audits and interconnects.
The integrated system combines Luna Innovations’ LWA 7600 Series Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometer (OFDR), DiCon Fiberoptics’ MEMS optical switching technology, and ECSite’s LuminECsa™ automation platform into a single production-ready testing platform for multi-channel fiber and photonics validation.
As AI infrastructure drives rapid growth in photonics and high-capacity optical interconnects, testing workflows have become increasingly complex. Characterizing insertion loss (IL), return loss (RL), fiber length, spectral response, and latency across multiple channels often requires multiple instruments, manual reconnections, and fragmented software environments.
ECSite addresses this challenge with an integrated architecture that combines instrumentation, switching, and automation into a single automated testing environment capable of characterizing multiple channels from one instrument cycle.
“Photonics and fiber manufacturers are scaling rapidly to support next-generation AI infrastructure, but production testing often requires multiple instruments, switching systems, and disconnected software environments,” said Subbu Meiyappan, CEO & Founder of ECSite. “By integrating Luna’s OFDR measurement technology and DiCon’s MEMS optical switching with our LuminECsa™ automation platform, ECSite delivers a complete turnkey solution – hardware, switching, software, and support – enabling customers to automate multi-channel validation and dramatically accelerate production testing.”
Key Solution Advantages
- 1xN or MxN Optical Switching, One Instrument – MEMS optical switching routes channels sequentially without manual reconnection
- Sub-Second OFDR Acquisition – High-speed OFDR scans enable rapid (sub-2 sec) automated multi-channel test cycles
- Comprehensive Characterization – Measure IL, RL, fiber length, frequency response, and spectral content from a single OFDR platform
- Production-Floor Ready – Rack-mount architecture with automated pass/fail logic and manufacturing system integration
- Scalable Architecture – Expand switching configurations or instrumentation as testing capacity grows
At the core of the platform is LuminECsa™, which orchestrates automated testing workflows and provides centralized dashboards for measurements including IL, RL, fiber length, and latency. Results are automatically captured in the cloud with built-in reporting, pass/fail analysis, and centralized production records.
Attendees at OFC 2026 (March 17–19) can see the integrated solution demonstrated at the Luna Innovations booth (#1909) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
